A Two-Part Event: Advancing Racial Justice & Mental Health Equity

Part 1: An Interactive Exhibition
This immersive experience was designed to bring the core themes of the publication The Lancet Psychiatry Publication Series, “Black mental health in the USA: Nothing for us without us,” to life, sparking reflection, dialogue, and collective action. Participants engaged with the urgent call to build an anti-racist society and to reimagine a mental health care system that fully acknowledges and responds to the unique needs of Black Americans. Through interactive sessions, storytelling, and solution-focused dialogue, this experience moved beyond awareness toward meaningful, sustained impact.

Part 2: A Celebratory Reception
The second part of the event was a vibrant celebration that uplifted the voices and visions behind the movement. The evening featured live music, powerful excerpt readings by contributing authors of the publication series, and immersive installations showcasing artwork from the Interactive Experience. This gathering honored Black creativity, resilience, and community, serving as both a joyful culmination and a renewed call to action.
